Aims

The College has committed itself to operate its admissions process in a way that it is transparent and justifiable with procedures that are fair, clear, explicit and consistently applied for all students on all programmes.

Students must apply through Stratford City College’s website and fill our online application form. Answers are mandatory.

The Student must attach a copy of his/her:

1.1     Photo (Colour Passport Size)

1.2     Passport copy. (If the home address is not on the passport then a National ID card where the address is written clearly and visible must be attached)

1.3     Educational Documents, i.e. Certificates and Mark Sheets

1.4     English Proficiency Test Result (IELTS, TOEFL, PEARSON, TOIEC, OTHER)

1.5     Student Telephone number (home or mobile) and email address.

Admission Procedure / Assessment

On receipt of the application form, the Admission Dept will:

-    Check that the form has been filled in correctly, that all the necessary information has been included and check the applicant’s fee status. The application form is then forwarded to the appropriate Academic Dept., according to the line of study.

Rules and Regulations

 
The Rules and Regulations set below refer to all students that have been admitted to study a running course held at Stratford City College and have made a payment whether it has been a deposit or full amount.
 
Balance fees and any additional charges, if necessary, must be paid prior to the starting date of the course. All fees and charges can be paid in cash, by cheque, credit card or bank transfer to the College’s bank account. However, where fees are paid in any other form rather than cash, it will not be deemed ‘received’ until Stratford City College has received ‘clearance’ from its bank.
 
Students that are on a course for more than one year may see an increase in the yearly fee, due to circumstances out of the Colleges control.
 
Students must be aware that additional payments may be required from them for the following:
 

• Material – students may be expected to pay for materials as part of their course and such items do not form part of the standard academic resources available to students from the College.
• Exam fees – students will be expected to pay exam fees where such fees are charged separately and not covered by their course fees. This may be the case e.g. where external exam is required.
• Registration fees – students will be expected to pay examination board registration fees where this is not already covered in their course fees.
• Trips – students undertaking trips as part of their course will be expected to fund them.
• Text books– students are required to make arrangement to acquire relevant text books for their course. Where this is arranged for them by the College it will be at a discounted price which students must pay separately from their course fees

 
Withdrawal from the College
 
Stratford City College acknowledges that in extreme cases students may have to withdraw from the course due to exceptional circumstances.
 
The Student withdrawing from the College will have to present a written explanation and any supporting documents evidencing the necessity to leave the College.
 
It is the discretion of the College’s Management to consider giving a refund to the Student and would be based on case-by-case revision.  However, the College will apply in addition, the amount of £300.00 towards administrative fees.
 
All original documents belonging to the College must be returned before the Student leaves.
 
Should Stratford City College be forced to cancel a course, a full refund will be given to the Student.
 
 
The following applies to non EU Students
 
UK Border Agency Visa Requirements
 
For Students applying to attend the College there are UK Border Agency Visa requirements that you must be aware of.
Once a Student has been granted the Visa it is their duty to advise the College within 3 working days.  After arrival in the UK the Student must report to the College within 3 working days, bringing all the original documents which have been used to obtain the Visa and two passport sized photographs.
 
Failing to report to the College will oblige us to follow the UKBA Regulations and will cause us to withdraw your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).
 
However, if you have a problem, which is beyond your control, you will need to inform the College by writing to us at admin@stratfordcitycollege.com
 
It is important that Students realise that if a Visa is refused due to negligence on behalf of the Student, the College will not refund any fees already paid.

The ESOL course is a University Of Cambridge based curriculum emphasising social and academic language proficiency. The courses overarching standard is that students will use English to communicate and demonstrate academic, social, and cultural understanding.To reach this standard, it is critical that instructional approaches, both in ESOL and general education classes, accommodate the needs of our students linguistically and culturally. Where possible, we use the home language of our students as a means of facilitating instruction for English language learning and communication.

The Level 7 (Postgraduate) Extended Diploma in Business Computing helps those passionate about IT and an opportunity to explore computing issues from an international and global perspective. The course is in line with the QCF guidance and regulations applicable to qualifications accredited by Ofqual, the government regulator of qualifications and assessments.

Objectives

The diploma is designed for learners who wish to explore Business Computing within a global business context. The programme also welcomes learners with Bachelor Degrees in disciplines other then I.T. or Development.

Unit Structure of the Qualification

The course comprises of six modules:

Data Analysis and Design, Information Systems Development Methodologies, Internet Technologies Strategy, Internet Systems Development, Professional Issues in IT and Research Methods for Business.

Learning Outcome

The learning outcome for this course is to understand the current theory, current tools, techniques, methodologies and implementation for the design of database systems.
