The Level 7 (Postgraduate) Extended Diploma in Business Computing helps those passionate about IT and an opportunity to explore computing issues from an international and global perspective. The course is in line with the QCF guidance and regulations applicable to qualifications accredited by Ofqual, the government regulator of qualifications and assessments.
Objectives
The diploma is designed for learners who wish to explore Business Computing within a global business context. The programme also welcomes learners with Bachelor Degrees in disciplines other then I.T. or Development.
Unit Structure of the Qualification
The course comprises of six modules:
Data Analysis and Design, Information Systems Development Methodologies, Internet Technologies Strategy, Internet Systems Development, Professional Issues in IT and Research Methods for Business.
Learning Outcome
The learning outcome for this course is to understand the current theory, current tools, techniques, methodologies and implementation for the design of database systems. To understand the role of the Unified Modelling Language in information systems development and internet technology environment in relation to organisational strategy, the current technologies and to be able to plan, design, implement and manage internet technology solutions.
